Summary

The construction of the Toyota vehicle manufacturing plant in Blue Springs, Mississippi, will likely initiate rapid economic growth in the Lee, Union, and Pontotoc area. Siting a manufacturing plant in a rural setting presents the opportunity to develop information that can be used for well-planned economic development that recognizes constraints of the natural environment as well as the constraints / advantages of the local infrastructure. With appropriate information, economic development could be focused in geographic areas that will minimize geological / environmental concerns and maximize the long-term well being of the development. Twelve digital data sets have been developed to provide this needed information to Three Rivers Economic Development District, local governments and the public. These data sets are listed below.
